I called and advised my Kwikset electronic lock model and that I needed service as it had a problem with the bolt dragging when going into the frame. The two repair guys were friendly and figured out the problem, ended up needing a bad part replaced that was probably missed during the quality control inspection at the factory. They went back to the shop for the part and returned to fix the lockset. I got exactly what I needed, which was a working lock, so I can't complain! My only concern was the amount charged. A brand new electronic lock of this model is $229. My bill for repair of the old one was $369 - $140 more than a new lock. I guess my question is why didn't they just install a new lock or at least come with a new lock in hand since I advised my make and model of Kwikset when I called. I know the price for new with labor would have probably matched my bill, but it would have saved a lot of time and replacing parts. Overall, Like I said- I got exactly what I needed, which was a working lock!
